🐾 Why I Built This Site
Hi, I'm Jay. I live in Australia with my French Bulldog — a stubborn, snoring, absolutely lovable little guy who has cost me more in vet bills than I ever expected.
Like many Frenchie owners, I learned the hard way that flat-faced breeds come with serious health risks: breathing problems, skin allergies, spinal issues. One emergency visit cost me over $4,000 out of pocket. That's when I started researching pet insurance — and discovered how confusing and overwhelming the market is.
I built PetInsuranceGuide because no one should have to choose between their pet's health and their bank account. Every comparison, guide, and recommendation on this site comes from hours of reading PDS documents, comparing fine print, and talking to other pet owners about their real claims experiences.
This site is independently run. I'm not a vet, not a financial adviser, and not owned by any insurance company. I'm just a pet owner who did the research and wants to share it.

- Claims Experience (20%) — Customer reviews, complaints data, Canstar ratings
- Policy Flexibility (15%) — Excess options, waiting periods, age limits, multi-pet discounts
- Extras (15%) — Routine care inclusion, dental cover, telehealth, member benefits
